Unique, le premier restaurant Not Your Average Joe's Nashua NH a ouvert ses portes en 1994. À cette époque, il existait peu de restaurants qui servaient une bonne nourriture à un prix raisonnable dans les environs. Fatigué de conduire et de payer trop cher, Steve Silverstein a décidé de construire le restaurant qu'il a toujours voulu. Le nom Not Your Average Joe's provient de la volonté de Steve de créer un restaurant original, un lieu unique de quartier, où les gens se connaissent, avec un bon rapport qualité/prix et où l'on se sent spécial sans pour autant avoir besoin de se mettre sur son 31.
