Best Casual Restaurants in Old Montreal

This is a wonderful restaurant, the ambiance is very special being in the historic building across from the Notre Dame Basilica in the heart of Old Montreal. The food and service were excellent.

Had an excellent night at Maggie Oakes tonight. Would definitely recommend and return! Food was delicious — really enjoyed the soup and the vegetarian option.

Date night on a Tuesday night, it was quiet but still bustling. We decided to try the tasting menu and it did not disappoint. Best value if you want to try a little bit of everything and if you're open to "chef's choice", then do it ! The branzino stood out along with the tagliolini, the agnolotti seemed a bit "too al dente" but tasty, the crostoni was my favorite :) As for drinks, the Hugo was refreshing and delicious if you like mint and prosecco. My date ordered 2 Old Fashioned but made differently, the bartender did a modern version and the traditional version, both tasty but the traditional being the winner ! Service was amazing and the timing between courses consistent. I highly recommend this restaurant for a date night and come on the weekday, there's ample street parking and indoor parking garages are in abundance !

Had a wonderful meal here to celebrate my wife's birthday. I had the linguine pescatore, which was delicious and my wife had margarita truffle ravioli which was even better! The grilled calamari was also very good, tho a bit spicy for my weak palate. They then bright over a complimentary tiramisu with a sparkler for her birthday! Highly recommend!
