Best Authentic Restaurants in Hamilton

Our table of 4 was attended to quickly and friendly. All four of us loved the food served. Prices were reasonable and we were given a free dessert to share. Only negative was the parking lot across the street towed our car while we were dining. We used to be able to park there after bank hours but failed to see the sign telling us we would be towed. This was not the restaurants fault but perhaps they could post a sign on the entrance door to warn cutomers.

La Barrita was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The food was excellent, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. The owner Sebastian made us feel like old friends, and our waiter Tony was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and genuinely invested in making our meal special. We were lucky to visit on a slower Monday, which made for an even more intimate and personalized dining experience. We originally went for an anniversary dinner, but we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Great experience overall. Food was immaculate, service great and staff were very competent. Love this place!

This was my time visiting and it was everything that I was told it would be. The food was served at the proper temperature, it was delicious, and the portions were great. Also the staff from the front desk to the server, everyone was pleasant and professional. We had melt in your mouth oxtails, delicious fried catfish, yams, collard greens with a little kick lol, and macaroni and cheese. We also purchased bread pudding but had to take that home along with the leftover food because we were full and pleased. I look forward to returning real soon.

We had the tasting menu for a table of 11 — the food was amazing, the tasting menu was fun, and the service was warm and responsive — highly recommend!
