As a bar-focused restaurant, we craft garden-to-glass cocktails served alongside Chef Joe Zobel's modern American cuisine inspired by West Sonoma County's abundance of biodiversity. Along with our menu of innovative and delicious dishes, the bar features house-made beer and spirit-free elixirs, as well as locally-sourced and small-production wines by the glass. Fern Bar's airy, plant-filled space can be found within The Barlow, Sebastopol's popular shopping and dining destination. Our outdoor dining room is covered with a heater next to every table, it still gets cold so bring a layer. Our server, Niero (I think was his name) was fantastic. He was welcoming, helpful, and attentive without being too obtrusive. He and other attendants removed dishes and utensils without making their presence known. Nice! The water was brought to us right away, and it was ice cold and refreshing. Two of us ordered Smoky Old Fashions which were a little pricy but delicious, and the bartender didn’t skimp on the bourbon. Smile! The food was absolutely fantastic as it was prepared with great care. Two of us ordered 11oz. Filet Mignon and two ordered 20oz rib eye steaks. We all agreed that our $65.00 steaks were cooked exactly as we requested and the meat was melt in your mouth tender. Filet mignons could be cut with a fork and might’ve been the best filet mignon ever. The flavor was incredible, but they brought us three different sauces, all of which were flavorful and fun to try. One was a red wine reduction sauce, another was peppercorn, and the third was a garlic sauce. All were special additions to the meal. We tried the French onion soup which was a perfectly spiced broth with great carmelized onions and wonderful melted Swiss and Gruyère cheeses. Yummy! We split two wedge salads which included crisp lettuce, tasty bacon and blue cheese dressing, plenty but not over done. Food and service were simply perfect. And they did not charge us corkage fee for the one bottle of wine we brought with us. The bill plus 22% tip for the meal was $522.00. Whew!!! The food was as good or better than Starks but the ambience at the Casino was a little lacking, and although not especially strong , we could smell cigarette smoke. I must mention that the people working at the casino were kind and very welcoming as well. I’d only been to the Casino twice before but I can say that if I was in the mood for an expensive steak dinner, I wouldn’t hesitate to dine at Park 630 again.

i’ve loved John Ash for years, but after the last two times dining it seems they are getting too pricey for the product. the service remains excellent, though. My pork sugo was bland and 2 pieces of pork were too fatty. the wine mark-ups are brutal. we paid $79 for a bottle that retails for $25. the bar is fantastic and we’ll certainly return there, just probably do our next birthday dinner elsewhere.

First time there and was truly impressed. Service was friendly and efficient, the menu was diverse to satisfy a variety of appetites and the ambience was comfortable and warm. Every plate we had was visually beautiful and extraordinarily tasty. The wine, cocktail and mocktail selection was ample. Will be back!
