Best Date Night Restaurants in South Plainfield

Food and service were great. Was so noisy that we could not hear each other talk at the table. Spent lunch saying”what?” And “huh?” And leaning into the middle of the table to talk to one another. Really took away from the experience for sure.

Went for breakfast and the options were fabulous, as was the service Will definitely be back!

One of the best Mexican restaurants in the Metuchen area. Service: Hostess and servers were welcoming and really provided great service. Even with the pressure of the Valentine’s Day crowd they kept their cool and really kept the operation moving and provided top service. We didn’t feel rushed but they were able to keep us sitting the 2 hr max time slot during for this holiday. Food and cocktails: Sooo delicious. There was nothing we ordered that wasn’t delicious and really well made. The cocktails were perfect. The right mix. Thank you for the great cooks and bartenders. Atmosphere: Super cool. Loved the artwork at the bar. They had entertainment that wasn’t overly loud but really drew our attention. Just a fun place to be on a Friday night. I’ll definitely be back and if you’re in the area you should check it out as well.

The Smith is an outstanding restaurant with a warm atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly smile and seated promptly. Our waiter, Andrew, was exceptional—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. He made fantastic recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed without being intrusive. The food was flavorful and beautifully presented, making for an unforgettable dining experience. If you’re looking for a place with great food and top-notch service, The Smith is a must-visit!

We had a big group of 7 of us and wanted to eat close to the Lincoln Center prior to the Ballet. Smith was fantastic. The food was spot on, and the service was even better. This will be our new go-to when we visit NYC and go to any performances at the Lincoln Center. Thanks to the staff at Smith for a memorable meal with friends to kick off an incredible night
