The hostess at the entrance shared a little about the beautiful venue before seating us. PRETTY COOL BAR! Our waiter, Steven welcomed us again before introducing himself. His attention made our visit special, as well as the overall staff. We ordered the lobster bisque and the pear salad, the salmon and the steak frites and shared a cheesecake for dessert. We certainly enjoyed our food and dining experience. La Grande Boucherie in NY had already made a good impression on us when we organized a large gathering with family and friends. We had a drink before our table I had the whiskey clover she had the cucumber gimlet. Both very good we then got seated our server was Erma she did an excellent job. As far as the food everything was great that we ordered has the jumbo lump crab cake and calamari for appetizers. Both very good. For entree we split the lamb chops and she had New York strip I had the 12 oz manhattan wagyu with a South African lobster tail stuffed with crab, everything taste amazing. For sides we had the whipped potatoes and asparagus would recommend both. She was phenominal with giving suggestions for drinks, food, and specials. I got the heavenly eggs, and my fiance got collard greens dip. Excellent. I went with the chicken and specialty waffle of the month, which was red velvet. Crispy, flaky waffle, not overbearing seasoned chicken, and give you the option of whitw or dark meat with you waffles. I also had a side of yams and macaroni & cheese. My fiance got banana pudding waffles and a side of lobster mac. Everything was delicious. We got the special dessert, which was the Strawberry Trifle. So good. Not overly sweet. 10/10 recommend. She even told me there was fish broth in the Miso Soup, which I didn’t order due to her honesty. I think the restaurant should include the fish broth on the list of ingredients on the menu. Every ingredient should be listed when it comes to meat, diary or any spice with heat (cayenne, chili, etc.). Good food, good service. We took them up on the offer and had lunch there on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was busy (a surprise to us for a downtown DC location) and the vibe was happy. We both had the delicious Farfalla Rossa cocktail. We had the Burrata Mediterraneo and Vitello Tonnato appetizers, Fusilli Cinghiale e Funghi pasta and Bronzino del Marinaio for entrees, and Tiramisu and pear and chocolate desserts. The food was excellent! Our server, Ximena, was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable, as was the rest of the staff. Thank you, Hospitality Team of Olio e Piu, for offering us this second chance at your restaurant. It tells us that you care about your patrons and the food and hospitality you provide.
