Located in Old City Philadelphia, Tuna Bar boasts a relaxing, upscale atmosphere serving fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The diverse menu offers traditional and specialty sushi rolls, raw oysters, scallops, hand-selected fish, and shareable entrees. Tuna Bar offers a fully stocked bar of wine, sake, and spirits.     Great food, not so great service. It was hard to get the attention of the waitress & my spicy tuna crisps took 34 minutes to be delivered….unclear what happened because no one apologized or said anything.

    We had a 12-piece Omakase dinner, served to a total of 10 people by two chefs. The “experience” was terrific, and the chef was very informative and entertaining. The food was great, with some interesting types of sushi that we’d never had before. The food was prepared well and we were given information about it to make it more than just eating 12 small pieces of fish (I should say 11 pieces of fish and one piece of steak topped with sea urchin). It’s not cheap, and you need to factor this in to the decision about whether to go here, but if you’re looking for a great place for sushi with a different approach to serving it, I highly recommend it. This is our second time going there and we’ll be going back.
