Best Historic Restaurants in South Norwalk

Fantastic dining experience. Service and food were superb. It’s a small restaurant in a charming converted schoolhouse. Staff were attentive and friendly. The one negative is the noise level. If you’re looking for a quiet dining experience this might not be the right fit. For me, this is a great choice to take someone for a special occasion or someone visiting from out of town.

This place is fantastic! The food and service is five stars. Easy parking and on a cute street full of young people. It feels vibrant and Washington Prime feels cozy compared to other steakhouses. Save room for dessert … not your typical dessert menu … I’ve tried them all and they don’t disappoint. It’s worth every penny.

We love going to the Roger Sherman Inn. It’s very pretty, quiet and upscale. However, the last couple times we’ve been there the service has not been terrific. Not sure if they’re understaffed or if the particular waiter we had last night was new, but extremely slow. The owner was dining in the restaurant at the table next to us with her family. When they were finished with dinner, she was actually clearing plates and taking drink orders. I still love this restaurant.

A wonderful dining experience. We were greeted promptly on our arrival and shown to our table Great service. We started with the Beet Salad and Meatballs. Entrees were Branzino and Caci de Pepe. Everything was delicious. Desert shared chocolate Gelato- incredible.delicious coffee was topped it all off. We decided we would return. The noise level was due to the liveliness of people dining and conversing. We were able to hold a conversation throughout the evening.
