In Italian, the word, Secondo means “the second part of a duet.” When we opened Panico’s Bistro, we knew we wanted to eventually add some harmony to our original melody and so, Secondo is the continuation of our long-standing tradition to serve classic Italian cuisine in concert with Mediterranean influences right here in Cape May County. Nested beautifully on the bay, enjoy dinner and hand-handcrafted cocktails; inside in our sophisticated dining room or outside on our covered patio next to the harbor and water. Reservations recommended. Walk-ins are accepted based on availability. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May.     This was the first meal in quite awhile in a restaurant that from start to finish was amazing. I know why my parents loved it here. My seafood bisque was smooth with bits of crab and shrimp and delicious. It was served at the perfect temperature. The branzino was perfectly cooked and seasoned great. The spinach and polenta with it was delicious. Cannolis and cappuccino for desert were the perfect end to a wonderful dinner. They were very busy but our server was attentive and timed her visits to our table perfectly. We didn’t feel ignored or rushed. Definitely one of the best meals I’ve ever had!
