- KkathyMinneapolis - St. Paul •19 reviews4.0Dined todayShrimp angel hair pasta dish was lacking in flavor. Swordfish nicely prepared and delicious. Little gem salad not as flavorful as last time. Mussels were satisfying. Service was excellent. Overpriced for what we experienced.More info801 Fish - MinneapolisPrice: Very Expensive• Seafood• Downtown / Mill District•4.7
- TtMinneapolis - St. Paul •6 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoWe had a delicious lunch. We shared three pizzas and an entree called Juk served in a bowl. The jasmine rice in the bottom of the bowl was like a warm porridge. It was so filling on a cold day. The short rib meat on the Juk was very tender. The shared entree was polished off. We opted for a spirit-free drink called El Santo because we were heading to a cookie decorating event afterward. The drink was delicious. The server recommended the drink, and she was spot on. We look forward to returning again.More infoYoung JoniPrice: Expensive• Pizzeria• Northeast Minneapolis•4.6
- CChrisVIPMinneapolis - St. Paul •4 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoBar Lurcat is a favorite spot. I've probably been there 60 times in the past 20 years, sometimes just for a burger, sometimes like tonight, for a special dinner. The ambiance is unique; even though it's a large space, it still feels intimate. It's lovely, ornate details feel almost reserved despite of the proportion of the space. Even while enjoying the view and vastness of the entire beautiful bar/restaurant and despite so many people, somehow conversations can easily be had and heard across a table and you feel like your space in this space is your own. Tonight was better than ever. Everything clicked. The holiday lights lit the space warmly. Our server (Liz) was wonderful and the support team was unintrusive, yet ever present. But even more, the food tonight was the best I've ever had there. Starters of Ginger Fried Rice (11 out of 10), and poached oysters (fantastic) were the perfect openers. I'd eat the rice every day if I could. Then enjoyed entrees of Braised Lamb Shank and Rainbow Trout Meuniere, both excellent, but the trout was delicious with the Meuiere (butter/lemon) sauce. A good combo. Wine list by the glass not quite as as special, and honestly the prices are crazy for the food and wine. The food above and a few glasses of wine for two was over $300 with tip, tax. But for a special night or two a year, it's worth it. Hard to call it a value, but it is a valuable experience.More infoCafe Lurcat - MinneapolisPrice: Very Expensive• American• Downtown / North Loop•4.7
- JJimMinneapolis - St. Paul •22 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoNovel menu items -- creative and innovative. Capable service staff -- very helpful, attentive and engaging. Potions sizes appropriate -- but it was not clear sides were not included in the meal. Prices getting to the high side - tasty chicken sandwich was about $16 -- fries on the side another $7. High prices aside -- the server did bring me a small plate of delightful Nori spiced popcorn while I waited for a guest to join me. Very kind gesture. Well worth a visit if you want something besides the same old favorites that too many restaurants are dumbing down their menus too.More infoStarlingPrice: Expensive• Global, International• Edina•4.7
- JVJoniVMinneapolis - St. Paul •2 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 8, 2024Simply an awesome experience! I am a foody and have dined at many wonderful restaurants around the world. The experience we had at the Stonegarden was right with the best we have ever had! A+ grade for staff, A+ for the ambience, A+ for the meal, and A+ for the value. Our brunch consisted of oysters and crab cake for starters, Stonegarden Benedict and Gravlax for mains, a side of fried potatoes, and their raspberry waffle for the sweets. Drinks were the Espresso Martini and Bloody Mary. The food was superb! Blue Point Oysters with champagne migonette pearls were INCREDIBLE! Awesome remoulade Maryland Crab Cake, lemon-mascarpone gravlax, fried mini-potatoes (which were so good that I doggy-bagged the last couple for home!), and a benedict with a scratch biscuit that had me considering another order of it! The raspberry compote on a very light and perfectly cooked waffle was a great way to finish our meal. I will add that the espresso martini is exemplar...fresh pulled espresso with vodka, frangelico, disaronno, licor 43, and a very slight hint of maple...AWESOME! The staff is top notch, super friendly, with prompt and patient service. The owner (Andrew) came to our table and talked with us for about 10 minutes on his history and the thoughts that went into this "french with some twists" influenced menu. Such care on the right staff, menu, feel and atmosphere of the restaurant is rarely done so well. The location is nestled into a wonderful neighborhood setting near Lake Nokomis. We are looking forward to coming back again and trying some of the other items on their menu!More infoStonegardenPrice: Moderate• Breakfast• South Minneapolis•4.9
