Best Japanese Restaurants in San Marcos

We always have a great experience when we eat at Kings. Last night was special bc our waitress, Brooke took super good care of us on an extremely busy night! The day after Valentines and on a Saturday night. We are from OK, have a home in Carlsbad and we ALWAYS make a point to eat at King’s while we’re in town! Sometimes more than once!

Our experience was amazing. We had a VIP with us, but the manager didn't know it. Emily stepped in because we had seating trouble and she took excellent care of us. Our waiter was excellent too. Even our VIP make a sincere comment. Thank you Emily. You are running the show very well! The food was excellent all the way around. We had salad, sushi, streak and veggies.....all that were cooked to perfection.

Pacific Coast Grill has truly become our favorite restaurant, and we make it a point to celebrate all of our special occasions here. Every time we visit, the food never disappoints, but this time there were a couple of standouts that really made our experience unforgettable. The Cardiff Reef Roll was absolutely incredible, and the Alaskan Halibut was cooked to perfection—so flavorful and tender, it truly exceeded our expectations. Even though Pacific Coast Grill isn't a dedicated sushi spot, their sushi is unbelievable. It's always fresh, flavorful, and crafted with such care. It’s a pleasant surprise every time. We also really enjoyed the Pinot Gris from Willamette, which was the perfect pairing with our meal. The wine selection here always complements the dishes so well. Lastly, the valet service was impeccable. They were kind, professional, and made sure our car was parked right up front, so we didn't have to wait in the rain. It’s little touches like this that make a big difference in the overall experience. We can't wait to come back and continue celebrating more special moments here!

Beautifully prepared and super fresh sushi. Great menu. Superb service. Nice sake tasting and premium sake small/large bottle choices. Indoor or outdoor seating options. Outdoor has heat lamps. Area of improvement: check in area by front door gets congested and crowded. We sat at the table by the front door and people waiting to be seated leaned up against our seating booth. Not fun dining with constant bumps. Overall: highly recommend!
