Best Japanese Restaurants in Half Moon Bay

My family had a pleasant, memorable experience at Benihana last night! We’ve had dinner here multiple times, but last night was one of our favorites! Our chef, Zane, perfectly cooked our food at a good pace and kept us entertained with his hilarious jokes and impressive tricks. We hope to get him as our chef again the next time we dine here!

The food and service at Nobu can’t be beat. Every dish, spot on perfect. Our server & team were phenomenal. He curated our food selections & really nailed it. Food portions are small. Works for me but gets expensive trying to satiate a young guy. I’d love to see the “tacos” be sized for at least two bites. We ate in the atrium area at Nobu Palo Alto. It is probably lovely in the summer when you can see the garden. On a chilly, rainy November night, it felt a bit like being in the overflow area. Could perhaps be made more inviting with a little attention.

Fun and delicious! Love the no shoe/floor seating, glass partitions which give you and your party a private feel, but most of all the charcoal yakitori. Favs for us are the pork belly, corn, wagyu beef, and the bacon wrapped mochi. Staff was attentive and delightful. Open until 2am so perfect for those late night munchies.

Best sushi in the city, hands down. Incredible service and experience.

Came for dinner with my family. We’re Japanese and my sons love and miss Japanese style bbq. The taste,ambience, services are same mostly.
