Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in South Windsor

We had dinner with the grandkids (ages 10 and 7) before A Christmas Carol. Nice menu options for them including salmon, which my grandson ordered and loved. Served in something resembling a bento box or cafeteria tray (only fancy), the kids’ meals were healthy - salad, apples, biscotti. Kids could not have been happier. Food arrived quickly, was fresh and hot. My daughter-in-law is a vegetarian and had the pad Thai. Enjoyed it. I had the salmon. Delicious!! Service was fantastic. Our server was very attentive. Everyone was welcoming and patient with the kiddos.

Salmon was delicious, two had the special stuffed chicken which they really enjoyed and one had the spicy Asian pasta which she thought was very good. Our waiter Jose was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. Love the atmosphere and the scenery.

We were sat at a great booth location and had a very good and attentive server. It was an enjoyable meal. All 5 of us stated we had very good meals served hot. We will be back.

Artisan is a favorite for delicious and fresh vegetable-rich meals. We love the Chef's monthly themed dinners and the way the kitchen aims to accommodate dietary preferences. I ordered the catch of the day over the brussels/pistachio/pesto preparation and it was perfect. There is a trend to fry the brussels until they are unrecognizable and cover them in sauce, but Artisan maintains a delicate flavored vegetable that compliments the dish. The autumn salad with blueberries, pomegranate seeds and almonds was excellent also. The main dining room is a cheerful relaxing space and the staff is welcoming and helpful.

Service was excellent even though we were told they were short a few servers. Food was excellent, especially the original wings. Just a few items were unavailable, but no big deal. When my daughter’s food came out with cheese (when we asked for no cheese) they were very apologetic and offered to remake it. Overall a very good experience.
