Standing high above the city on the 10th floor of the City Club Apartments, at 309 Vine Street; resurrected from the history that has stood here before our time, Shires' Rooftop is inspired by the first amusement resort in this part of the country, Shires' Garden. Though the original Shires' Gardens burned to the ground, "in a most picturesque fire," the legacy that was left behind is everlasting and an integral part of the Queen City's history.     My wife and I went for the first time for her birthday. We were greeted at the door by our waiter, and he acknowledged her birthday, which was great! We were seated early, which was great, and our server went over the options and his favorites. We went with the flat bread, and then the filet. It was all very delicious. We plan on coming back to try the brunch.

    I have been to Moerlein several times and have always been amazed at how great the food has been, and, of course, I love their beers, with the Barbarossa dark lager being my fav. Tonight, we went for their Veterans Day special menu. I so appreciate the great deal they offered. I had the Steak Frites, and the steak was done perfectly, was very tender and served with really crispy fries. Another great night at Moerlein.

    Delicious and great atmosphere. Came here on a whim and enjoyed everything. I had the spinach & artichoke dip which was delicious, and the beignets were better than I expected! Just came in overnight and would absolutely go again next time I’m in town.
