Best Contemporary American Restaurants in Waukegan

Food was amazing! I usually don’t order chicken at fine dining restaurants but so glad I did. Best chicken I’ve ever had. Our server, Kevin, was super personable and fun. Highly recommend!

Celebrated Valentines Day at Austin's (a day late). Great experience. Service was outstanding! Food was perfectly prepared, an unique and tasty combinations of flavors... portions are abundant. The special Valentine show in the Impact lounge was amazing. Overall a perfect evening. Look forward to many more evenings there.

Outstanding food and environment. Fish was outstanding, meat excellent, drinks supurb, environment the best. I am sick of restaurants undercooking meat to "prove" they are sophisticated. "Medium Rare is what "Rare" was 10 years ago. I like it rare to medium rare; but high end restaurants keep pushing it more rare - IMO so they aren't "judged" on being unsophisticated. It's becoming absurd today - for ALL high end restaurants lean in this direction. We need to develop a legit standard.

Farm Bar has become one of my favorite restaurants over the years, we live in the neighborhood and it's always our go to. Great staff, great service, just a great overall vibe. 

My wife and I celebrated her birthday on a Tuesday night. She had the halibut and I had frutti di mare. The halibut, which I had on a previous visit, was a large portion which was expertly prepared. Actually the best we've ever had. My dish was filled with large portions of seafood including large chunks of crab legs. Delicious!! Our dinner was capped off with a complimentary desert. The food was great and the service was outstanding.
