WOW, to say we scored in an understatement…we were blown away. Starting with the Smoked Rum Old Fashioned…brought to the table under a dome filled with fragrant woodsmoke, this was a crafted cocktail that impressed across all the senses. We had 6 of the 11 apptz offered…all fabulous (but I am still thinking on how tender their octopus was). The mains were very generously sized and each had a custom tweak that made them unique to AZAR; fire grill pichana, branzino, the shrimp salad and an over-the-top cowboy cut steak that even our 19 yr old carnivore had to rally to finish. Desserts..the Black Forest Brownie and the Churros were killer. Our server, Maria, was a pro throughout..including with the wine pairing, she was great. Our server, Dennis, took extra special care of us, and as always, the food was outstanding. From the popovers to the NY steak and the dessert doughnuts, everything was delicious! The salad bar was a little different this time. The marinated mushrooms were a little too tangy for my taste. Last couple of times it was sweeter. Anyway, I would just go back to the salad bar. We had a bit of a mishap by the table side cocktail maker with a near miss of a full tumbler of whiskey smashing on the floor by my feet ( scary) but was handled the right way.
