Best Restaurants for Special Occasions in Buckhead

We have enjoyed the food and service at Chops for more than 20 years. It remains our favorite restaurant for a special occasions and romantic dinners. However, we have noticed that the clientele has changed significantly, which has reduced our satisfaction with the dining experience. We are hoping that Chops will re-Institute a dress policy that is more representative of a five star dining experience. Also, we were not a fan of the Valentine’s Day menu. Although there were many options, we felt nickel and dime with the additions we selected for Cyde dishes and appetizers. We ended up spending a lot more than we normally would have for the same meal. Nonetheless, we remain loyal patrons of our favorite restaurant! Thanks!

We had the best table in the building!!! It was my favorite. Love everything about this place minus the small portions and pricing of certain items. 120$ lobster Mac (I get it, it’s 1.5# lobster which is pricey) and 75$ table side carbonara is plain wild. 110$ filet is literal steak house territory without any details on the filet itself. Dry aged? Wet aged? Sourced from? Anyways it’s amazing food but maybe having waiters go in depth on each of these special meals would help sway consumers.

The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance—sophisticated but not pretentious, making it ideal for both special occasions and casual nights out. The service at Umi is impeccable. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, offering knowledgeable recommendations and ensuring a smooth, enjoyable dining experience. From the moment we were seated, everything felt seamless, from drink refills to perfectly timed dish arrivals. As for the food, every bite reflected freshness and precision. The sushi was expertly crafted, with high-quality fish that practically melted in your mouth. Signature rolls offered a creative twist without overpowering the delicate flavors of the ingredients. The hot dishes were equally impressive, with standout items like the miso-glazed black cod and tempura that was light and crisp. Pricing is on par with similar high-end sushi spots, making it a great value given the quality of food and overall experience. Umi proves that you don’t have to compromise when it comes to great sushi, excellent service, and a welcoming ambiance. Highly recommended!

Did the Vday PreFix menu. It was good and tasty, the only slight disappointment was dessert, none of us were wowed and that was a missed opportunity to cap off a great experience. Service by Fatima was EXCELLENT!! Host staff and manager were all great.

La Grotta never disappoints. While the food is great, it is the service and pacing that makes the entire experience so wonderful. No pressure to order, no rushing you out after you’re done. Instead of just a meal, it becomes a wonderful event.
