Best Vegetarian / Vegan Restaurants in Lake Sarasota

I tried the Red Snapper special last night and it was delicious! I’m usually a sucker for the Macadamia encrusted Grouper, but the snapper was excellent too! Very busy last night and the noise level made conversation difficult but that’s expected in many places. Good wine selection and friendly service! Perfect location for me!

Best pasta, as of yet in Tampa. Tried the penne al vodka one, limoncello one, and caccio de pepe. All cooked Al dente perfectly! Our server Nico, knew the menu in and out and Mitchell the Manager came to our table a couple of times; really liked him. The stand out was the Limoncello pasta, but the caccio de pepe was right up there. It’s definitely a very casual place. I would recommend more for a lunch or early dinner.

Both meals were fabulous. Took a while to get our entrees...they were not busy. A bit pricey. Ordered their kale caesar salad added a 3 oz salmon which was pretty pricey for a tiny serving.

This was our second visit to this restaurant. The first time we were pleased, and this time did not disappoint. The only issue I had (both visits) was their over priced margaritas. They came in a small glass loaded with ice and were a very light pour. We were charged extra for adding pineapple juice (which could not have been more than a half a teaspoon because the glass size and ice)- $19 for a small over-iced drink was insane. Won’t be ordering any alcohol next time.

The server and the service were exceptional. She was very pleasant and professional. When a concern was raised about the salt level of an appetizer, not only the server but two other personnel attended to the concern. I have never experienced that level of efficiency and respect for a customer before. The food was exceptional in its quality and taste. I highly recommend the Green Zebra Café and indeed will return.
