Ses racines familiales nouvellement créées en Louisiane ont ajouté des saveurs intéressantes à ses repas maison. Toute la famille Mandola, y compris ses cinq enfants et ses quatorze petits-enfants, ont été régulièrement accueillis dans sa maison avec des odeurs de pain chaud, de sauces bien mijotées et de soupes maison.
