Lulu’s Cafe Newcastle specialises in Hawaiian poke bowls. Lulu is short for Honolulu, and this charming little addition to Newcastle’s cafe precinct was set up by three good mates looking to bring something fresh and unique to the scene. Poke bowls, for the uninitiated, are big, healthy bowls of raw sashimi fish, vegetables and vibrant salad on a bed of rice. You literally feel like a whole new and revitalised person after eating them. They’re good for lunch or for dinner, but Lulu’s Cafe Newcastle is also open for breakfast for the early risers amongst you. Be sure to head to this Crown Street cafe armed with an advanced reservation. You’ll need one!
