Located in the original Caffey’s Inlet Life Saving Station No. 5, the Lifesaving Station is Sanderling’s casual, three-meal-a-day restaurant celebrating southern coastal cuisine. After the winter renovations, the second level now offers sweeping views of the Currituck Sound and available for large parties with an expansive kid’s menu.     Everything about this restaurant was delicious and thoughtfully made. Even though Chef Edward Lee was not there in person, the Chef that was cooking did an amazing job because the food was very flavorful. This restaurant has exceeded my expectations and I am glad I did not give up on making the reservations.

    The service we received was nothing short of extraordinary, making our dining experience truly memorable. Each dish that emerged from the kitchen was a masterpiece in its own right. We indulged in delectable sushi that was expertly crafted, succulent salmon that melted in our mouths, and fried rice that was bursting with flavor. Every bite was a delightful revelation, leaving us craving more of the culinary magic we had just experienced.

    Best food in the Outer Banks. My wife and I have been coming here for years, we also had them cater our son‘s wedding. Innovative and creative tapas. We love this place. Highly recommended!
