The special menu had enough choices to have something for everyone, and the food was delicious and service was excellent. The prices were elevated for the Valentine’s Day , which I do understand. Gotta make that money . I get it. Some of the prices did seem excessive though. For example , one small crabcake (maybe 3 oz) was $19. The filet mignon offering looked like a pretty modest cut , maybe (5-6 oz precook). I guess I’m just saying for $100, per person , the food was very good , but I don’t know that I would say a great ‘value’. They definitely marked up for the holiday.More infoChurch and Union - CharlottePrice: Expensive• American• Uptown•4.6
- SScottRaleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill •7 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoA truly great French restaurant, with excellent dishes and outstanding service. Dishes tried. Every one was outstanding: oysters, escargot, sea bass, duck confit, hanger steak, creme brûlée. Steak frites with hanger steak and Bearnaise sauce was cooked to perfection medium-rare. Duck confit with melted leeks and banyuls jus was terrific, and I make duck confit regularly. The restaurant has to be one of the most beautiful in the city with high-ceilings and decor that makes you feel you are in Paris. Service was as good as the food. The bartenders, server, and service/FOH manager went out of the way to accommodate a couple of requests.More infoLa Belle HelenePrice: Expensive• French• Uptown•4.6
- MMimiSan Diego •16 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoOutstanding service! Thanks to Joel. Food was very good. A few things would have made it great. Love salt but heavy handed on the oysters. The bruschetta was fantastic, but would have been spectacular if the bread had been fully toasted. Mushy on the bottom. The tomatoes on it were spectacular as was the olive oil powder. We had a good, crisp Cesar salad and shared the Cacio Pepe. We thought the sauce was perfect. Light and peppery but not stodgy. We didn’t care for the pasta, which was more like a heavy gnocchi. So much so that we asked if we had gotten the dish we ordered. Loved the feel of the place. The lights and open kitchen were fun. A big comfortable booths were nice. The wine pours were exceptional and the prices excellent. Very good value. Not noisy and very enjoyable. Definitely worth the trip!More infoAngeline'sPrice: Expensive• Italian• Uptown•4.5
- GGaryVIPCharlotte •29 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoJust had a killer night at Napa on Providence with a couple of friends. We snagged seats at the bar and dove into the harissa cauliflower, whipped goat cheese, and octopus. The harissa cauliflower had just the right kick, the whipped goat cheese with pickled beets and truffle honey was a creamy delight, and the octopus was tender and flavorful. Our server, Gigi, was on point—super friendly and knew her stuff. The vibe was laid-back yet classy, making it a perfect spot to unwind. If you’re looking for a place with great food, drinks, and atmosphere, Napa on Providence is a solid choice.More infoNapa on ProvidencePrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Myers Park•4.6
