We decided to name our second venue ‘Ganymede’ after the largest Moon of Jupiter. We here at The LPC also value legacy and know that 139 Ebury Street, in its previous incarnation, was named The Ebury Wine Bar – an institution. Thus, as to give a nod to its heritage, we believe the name Ganymede is apt, as in Greek Mythology – Ganymede was a Trojan Aristocrat who was kidnapped by Zeus while the King of the Gods was in the form of an eagle and Ganymede was taken to the top of Mount Olympus to become ‘the Wine Pourer/Cupbearer to the Gods for all eternity’.

Villa di Geggiano has for more than five centuries, been renowned for hospitality and generosity as well as delicious food and sumptuous wines. Located at the heart of Tuscany, it has a history of exporting mouth-watering wines to England, having been possibly the very first to bring Chianti here in 1725. The menu features true Tuscan cuisine, with many of the ingredients being imported especially from the Villa and surrounding farms. Prepared with passion by a hand-picked crew, these maestros employ traditional techniques to recreate the essence of Siena. The care which goes into the menu is matched only by the attention to detail with which this landmark has been transformed into an elegant yet comfortable place to relax and enjoy good food, great wine and excellent company.     Upstairs was busy, downstairs where we were was quieter but still filled up. Staff are amazing and the menu choices were wonderful. The specials sounded delicious too. The atmosphere on a rainy night was comforting and we were well looked after. Our water glasses were regularly filled and we were asked how the food was. It was absolutely delicious - we both had options we hadn’t tried before and were both very happy with our choices. If I was local I would definitely eat there regularly.

    Food was fantastic, not too sweet for desserts, tea was great as well, times were flexible as well as they served afternoon tea till 7 PM which is great for my family so we can explore London in the afternoon and go to afternoon tea for dinner after.

    Can I just say I never write reviews but honestly this experience HAS TO BE SPOKEN ABOUT! Firstly I’d like to thank Pio & Muhammad for their OUTSTANDING service, both the guys made us feel so incredibly special, were super attentive and HAPPY! It was so nice to see. Both of them need a raise because they genuinely made this experience ten times better. We went mid week and it was a lot quieter which we loved and were offered a booth by the wonderful lady at the beginning and even at the end she offered us both a lollipop as we declined the mulled wine / hot chocolate because we were so full of tea 😂 The sandwiches were incredible, I was really surprised at the vegan options being so delicious - that mushroom sarni was INSANE. The atmosphere was great. We were very happy that it wasn’t too busy and loud. It was mums birthday and she got a special cake and Pio sang happy birthday with me so I wasn’t alone which was adorable! He was a very gentle soul. We had the best time and thoroughly recommend anyone to go! It is quite expensive but honestly the service made up for that entirely - you pay for what you get. I will be coming back!
