We decided to name our second venue ‘Ganymede’ after the largest Moon of Jupiter. We here at The LPC also value legacy and know that 139 Ebury Street, in its previous incarnation, was named The Ebury Wine Bar – an institution. Thus, as to give a nod to its heritage, we believe the name Ganymede is apt, as in Greek Mythology – Ganymede was a Trojan Aristocrat who was kidnapped by Zeus while the King of the Gods was in the form of an eagle and Ganymede was taken to the top of Mount Olympus to become ‘the Wine Pourer/Cupbearer to the Gods for all eternity’.

Breath-taking interiors by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, where classical myths are retold through a modern palette of the most refined materials, and comforts to sink into. Firstly our meal and service at the table was absolutely fantastic. Mattas was our server, and he was fantastic, knowledgable about the menu and very friendly, and the gentleman who helped us with the wine choice was also fabulous. Our food was hot, fresh and tasted fantastic. The sea bass was beautiful. Mashed potatoes were very tasty. The only thing that let the service down was waiting at the bar for our table to be ready. There were 3 bartenders and they all stayed extremely busy making drinks coming through the service till for the tables. There were only 6 of us at the bar, and no one acknowledged us. There was a gentleman clearing glasses from surrounding tables who saw us, acknowledged us and got someone to serve us. It didn’t take forever, but a good 8 or 9 minutes waiting at the bar without anyone even looking at you, or bringing you a menu is a long time. We found menus ourselves after a good 5 minutes further down the bar. The drinks we ended up getting were fantastic though. The bar is beautiful so it’s a shame that it isn’t serviced in a way to pop in and enjoy a couple drinks. Overall we had a great night, and if back in Victoria would go back.

We were very well looked after, service is top notch. Corkage deal, especially at lunch is good value. Food delicious, portion size a bit variable, sea bass tartare very generous but I could’ve eaten double the amount of the raviolis!

Enjoyable pre-theatre meal at Al Duca. Very good food and good service although, like so many restaurants, they did go AWOL when we were ready to pay ! Chicken Milanese was very good and a generous portion.
