Phil and Shula Witherford are the passionate couple behind this popular bar and contemporary restaurant on Doctors Hill, a place which is hard to leave without a personal promise to the publican that you’ll be back to get your fill again before too long.

We’re striving to push the boundaries with Indian flavours, but with cooking techniques from all over the world, some traditional, and some very modern. At Opheem, I’ll be using the same paints as I’ve always done, to create a very different picture, on a very, very different canvas. Why? Pho is a healthy Vietnamese restaurant with loads of vegan and gluten free options. We specialise in pho, the Vietnamese noodle soup, and also serve delicious curries, rice dishes, wok-fried noodles and healthy salads, too. We also have loads of starters that are perfect for sharing with friends and family. Over a third of our menu is vegan, and nearly all of it is gluten-free, so we are a great destination for people who follow those particular diets. We are accredited by Coeliac UK.     Did not go for carvery. I chose from the menu ..the fish was beautifully cooked and the choice of accompanying dishes was a good idea. My friends carvery looked well cooked and she said was lovely. Desert was nice but a tad expensive for just a couple of scoops of ice cream

    Chose here for a catch up with a friend! The food was exceptional, decent portions sizes and so much to offer for a gluten free diet. Very impressed with here and will definitely be returning.

    Absolutely outstanding. Superb food, and the warmest of welcomes from Aktar and his team. The food that comes out of Aktar’s kitchen is sensational. Whatever he and his team do in there may well be some kind of witchcraft. The Aloo Tuk alone is like little you will have tasted ever before. Not so cheap, but for this level of food and service, it is in my view absolutely worth the money. Smash that piggy bank, cash in that ISA, butter up your rich Uncle Desmond, but do try to experience this amazing, amazing, phenomenon at least once in your life.
