Best Healthy Restaurants in Newton Mearns

2nd visit, Friday lunchtime latish November, quiet,as good as first visit,had the lunchtime menu, two dishes and side after excellent bloody mary, nice and spicy Smoked trout exceptional as was burnt basque cheesecake, rest very good , including cheapest white wine ! Handy for theatreland, shopping and convenient for ladies who lunch using bus pass ( dont let that put you off, its trendy and good for people watching too}

The meat is outstanding, as is the service. The doneness of the meat is also very good. Just note that if you want rare to be really clear about that. We needed to send our steak back as it was over, which they did without any fuzz. What came back was absolutely perfect. I come here every time I visit Glasgow and will continue to do so.

We had lunch with three friends today in Ardnamurchan. Four of us had the venison stew and one had the vegetarian option; stuffed hispi cabbage. Both dishes were excellent and the clean plates said it all. Three of us shared a bottle of Australian Shiraz which was pleasant but not quite as robust as we’d hoped for to complement the venison. Desserts were delicious; cranachan, sticky toffee pudding and chocolate cremeaux and the cheese was enjoyed by one of our friends. As one friend is quite deaf we found the booth we sat in gave us reasonable privacy and he was able to hear the conversation easily. The girls who served us were great; friendly, pleasant and efficient. My husband and I always enjoy meals at Ardnamurchan and were happy to introduce friends to it.

A delicious leisurely lunch served by friendly and engaging staff made the visit special. I would definitely recommend if you enjoy flavoursome food and relaxed dining. My friend who shared it with me said she would award it more than 10 out of 10 !

Excellent lunch deal, great value for money. Food was lovely, and I think it was the best sticky toffee pudding ever - made by the in-house chef as was the delicious veggie burger I had. Friendly helpful staff, very pleasant surroundings - we’ll be back!
