The Parlour Tea Room at Mad Dogs and Englishmen provides a vintage setting to enjoy Afternoon tea. We’ve become renowned for our themed teas which offer an unforgettable experience. The Punchbowl is a 17th century gastro pub, located in the heart of rural Essex and the Crouch Valley and the South Essex Salt marshes. We offer nose-to-tail style menu, with unpretentious dishes that focus on flavour. Everything is made in house - from bread to mayonnaise, and we use local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Our menu changes daily, as the season's best comes in, and always features day boat fish, meat, offal, rare breed steaks and excellent vegetarian cookery.Our beautiful garden bar has a lawn and york-stone patio looking out across the farmland of Paglesham and the River Crouch.     Such a wonderful afternoon, beautiful decorations and delightful details, like the waitresses costumes and the themed cocktails even some hot toddy among the drinks on the cocktails list. Really helpful staff when I arranged the details because we were vegetarian and gluten free and they tackled all our requests by email and I brought a birthday cake with me and it all went very smoothly. Thank you so much for a lovely experience.

    Superb afternoon tea. Huge selection of teas. Deliciously filled sandwiches. Beautiful cakes and scones. Presented in such a pretty way. Service was top quality we had Kerry who was brilliant. I really would highly recommend The Fancy Fox to anyone for an afternoon tea experience!

    It is a nice restaurant with a view of Southend airport which currently is very quite (the airport) The staff were very helpful and friendly which was great, the food was good and even with the starter of my partner being slightly over cooked, they removed it from the bill and thanked us for our genuine feedback. Overall i would return to the restaurant and could recommend it.
