The Punchbowl is a 17th century gastro pub, located in the heart of rural Essex and the Crouch Valley and the South Essex Salt marshes. We offer nose-to-tail style menu, with unpretentious dishes that focus on flavour. Everything is made in house - from bread to mayonnaise, and we use local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Our menu changes daily, as the season's best comes in, and always features day boat fish, meat, offal, rare breed steaks and excellent vegetarian cookery.Our beautiful garden bar has a lawn and york-stone patio looking out across the farmland of Paglesham and the River Crouch. I took my sister in law to The Fancy Fox Patisserie in Leigh for afternoon tea to celebrate her 60th birthday, food, service & ambience was excellent will definitely be going back.

My friend and I had a marvellous dinner at the New London. Steak Tartare was to die for and a sharing Chateaubriand was tender and accompanied with delicious sides, especially the chilli spiked spring greens. Service was exemplary, drinks good and the prices extremely reasonable.

Superb food, very high quality environment, spotless linen serviettes/tablecloth and a waitress who was polite and charming. It was a very enjoyable lunch.
