The Durham Ox is a family owned traditional village Inn offering friendly and efficient service; showcasing the best of local produce in our menu, as well as stocking an extensive range of wines and cask ales. An award winning traditional pub complete with flag stone floors, exposed beams, oak panelling and roaring fires in winter. A small 500-year-old traditional village pub owned by the Hannah family. A pub of yesteryear, it is a true little gem.A Free House, situated in the beautiful village of Raskelf, North Yorkshire (just off the A19 north of York). The pub dates back to the 16th century with its structure boasting ships timber brought up the river Ouse from Hull. The local cask ales are Theakston's Best, Timothy Taylor's Landlord & Hambleton brewery Stud Blonde (gluten free), The Sunday roasts are to die for with produce locally soured, some direct by the farmers that frequent the pub. Our beautiful seasonal changing menu includes, local steak selection, homemade pub classics, and dishes such as pork belly, Gressingham duck fillet, local lamb shank, BBQ beef short rib, lemon sole, Scottish rope grown mussels, Cornish king scallops, dressed crab salad to name a few. An outstanding addition to Ancoats. The moment we walked in we knew we would love it. We felt very welcomed when we arrived and the staff were friendly and attentive. From the menu to the design of the restaurant you can tell that it’s been well thought out and it shows. We chose five plates to share between us, each one beautiful but I think the octopus was the star of the show for me. The quality of the food is excellent. Love the subtle nod to the Italian history in Ancoats too. We can’t wait for our next visit, thank you Bruco!

2nd time to the Durham OX. It was so good the 1st time we brought friends with us this time. Service is great. Very attentive staff. Atmosphere is comfy and cozy. Food is fantastic. The destination is about a 40 minute drive for us but absolutely worth it. I highly recommend anyone going for a visit. I look forward to our next one.

This was our first visit, we went with some friends and had brunch and we weren't disappointed; the staff were brilliant, the food was cooked fresh, well presented and was very tasty. We have been telling friends about this great cafe and will defiantly go back, possibly next time for coffee and cake and again to try an evening meal.
