Sisters Thai is excited to expand with a new location in Old Town Alexandria, thanks to a long-standing partnership with Edens since 2015. This fourth location is special, combining the beloved Sisters Thai restaurant with the Magnolia Dessert Bar & Coffee, known for its unique and charming desserts. The 4,500 sq. ft. space will feature Sisters Thai's signature decor, including a brick wall mural of the King of Thailand and the Magnolia shop's floral touches, particularly the "Magnolia Grand Garland" at the entrance. The space aims to provide a welcoming ambiance, with a focus on quality food and desserts. Despite the challenges, the team is dedicated to bringing their vision to life and hopes guests will enjoy the experience.

Chef Saran " Peter" Kannasute follows up behind the opening of Kyojin Sushi one year later with a brand new Thai spot that draws in tastes and aromas from Chef Peter's childhood in Thailand, where he originates. Rimtang is a Thai, street concept where not only is authentic Thai street food is delivered that introduces diners to what tastes Chef Peter grew up with but also introduces a sense of heritage and culture behind every dish on the menu. The restaurant is also managed and operated by the YHG Group. It carries the same belief that both quality of ingredients and exceptional level of hospitality service are equally important.

The Capital One Hal area has exploded recently, and this restaurant is a great addition right across the street from the Happ entrance. The food was terrific - the chicken of the chicken satay was a little rubbery, but the peanut sauce was the bomb and totally made up for it. Pad Thai, ginger and cashew dishes were delicious. The portions were not generous, but since you can't bring leftovers into Capital One Hall anyway, it's not a bad thing. I also had a fantastic Old Fashioned made with Japanese whisky and creme de cacao - I paid a hefty price for it, but it was awesome. The servers are wearing uniforms that either look like hospital scrubs (from the bakery adjacent) or like they're coming from the gym - it looked like sweats and a sweatshirt. Not nice, really. But what really bothered me was the automatic addition of a 20% tip (we were only 5 - why?). We normally start tipping at 20% and give more when appropriate, but the service barely earned that. Still, we will eat there again next time we have theater tickets.
