Best Mediterranean Restaurants in River West

I booked this reservation for my daughter and her husband to celebrate her 28th birthday. I sent a note ahead of time letting the restaurant staff know and they were very timely in responding back stating they would make her experience special. Well I’m so very pleased to report back that they both had an AMAZING night! They stated the food was fabulous however, even better was how they were treated by your entire servers/team. Thank you Rose Mary staff as I truly believe she had a very memorable birthday this year all because of your attention to detail and for going above and beyond. Absolutely incredible!! Decent food(7.5/10) but great service with cute bday celebration treat! Music is a little bit loud(they have a dj btw)!

The short rib hummus and the truffled salmon were unreal. Harissa Bloody Mary was very good. The Brussels sprouts and the steak and eggs were tasty but nothing extraordinary. The restaurant is so beautiful which really add to the experience. The patio being open in the winter is great, but it could’ve used an extra heater or two in the corners. Overall I am excited to go back and try more things.

Our first time at Lyra was really wonderful. The service was excellent. Our server Tassos was fantastic as were the runners and all the others involved in taking care of us. The food was incredible. We had the breads and spreads, octopus, lamb gyros and the Loukoumodes (Greek donuts). Everything we ordered was delicious and the flavors were just so fresh and bright. The made in house pita is perfection. The flavors of everything were familiar yet modern and new at the same time. The space is gorgeous. We went on an absolutely freezing, February night and felt like we were a world away. We had a fairly early 6pm reservation on a Thursday and by the time we were leaving about 7:45pm the entire restaurant was filled and really buzzing with great energy. There were only two of us and we will go back soon to be able to experience more of the menu. This is definitely one of our new favorites in Chicago. Well done by everyone involved at Lyra.

Had a wonderful time. We checked in for a birthday dinner, and the hostess inquired whose birthday it was and greeted the birthday boy warmly, as did our server when she came to our table to greet us. Everything was delicious. We had the Prosciutto and warm bread, fried artichokes, rigatoni amatriciana, the NY strip and the roasted romanesco. Highly recommend the artichokes and the rigatoni, just outstanding. We had 2 cocktails, both delicious, and the pistachio gelato (one serving is enough for 2 people to share). They had 2 glasses of prosecco brought out for a birthday toast. We will definitely be back. The pricing is standardly high on the food side, but that is to be expected these days.
