   Brought out of town visitors for dinner. Was greeted & seated quickly. Service was friendly and timely. The host came by the table with an amuse bouche and welcomed us. Everyone enjoyed the evening!

   We hadn't been in a while to Pomme Frite and were delighted to find it was every bit as good as we expected. Love this place. Great food and delightful service. The French onion soup was delicious as always. We also had the beef stew which was rich and delicious.

   Our Pomme Frite dinner, Palm Springs (French & Belgian Cuisine) overall was lovely w/ the meal itself uneven. Nice menu, great wine selection, very attentive & warm service, and very nice, cozy interior atmosphere. We had the baguette, smaller portion of mussels in wine sauce, broccoli soup, beet salad, onion soup, steak frites, & the upside down apple tart. The soup sensational, the desert a loser. The baguette was okay, crust and crumb below avg. for a French restaurant, accompanying seasoned butter was very good , both soups truly outstanding with a top five for the onion soup, the mussels were terrific and a fairly large portion (the larger entre option is 2 lbs.), plump tasty mussels prepared nicely, the wine sauce was very good with the garlic tender & relatively mild, pretty much perfect. The beet salad with goat cheese was delicious, the steak frite was very good, the frites some of the best we have ever had, hot, not too skinny, w/ great potato flavor, the steak was tender and perfectly prepared med/rare as requested, though lacked a strong enough flavor/taste. Unfortunately the desert, a complete disappointment, completely uninspired. The apple was presented in small chunk-like cubes, were fairly tasteless, carefully placed on a fairly tasteless thin pastry, the vanilla ice cream helped offset that item. The owner was seated at the small bar area, keeping a close eye on his staff & patrons without being overbearing, and fairly quick to jump in if one of the staff needed some support. The front main room was lovely overall, a good European café/ bistro feel, the line of awards draped across the center of the room from the ceiling distracts from the ambience. Framed on a wall would add to the feel of the room along w/ painting the acoustical ceiling & grid a dark color. Overall a very nice evening, beginning w/ mediocre bread, ending w/ poor desert, as the large middle was very good. We look forward to going back & trying other deserts.

   I received an email regarding their 25th anniversary prefix meals which we received an email about. We assumed that those who wanted the prefix could order it and those that don’t could order what they wanted. Turns out it’s all or nothing. Everyone has to order the prefix or no one gets it. BAD POLICY!! Very deceiving. We’ve been going there 25 years. Now I’m not sure we will be back

    We went to Pommes Frites on Thanksgiving. The place was packed. We had the lamb and the sole - both were amazing! And the bread pudding! Yum! Service was typical of a fine dining restaurant - impeccable! We’ll definitely eat at Pommes Frite next time we’re in PS.
