                                              What a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner we had!! My husband and I enjoyed everything from cocktails at the bar to a delicious prix fixe dinner. Service was impeccable even on a busy holiday night! We thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you and kudos to the 1789 staff!

                                              Incredible experience and ambiance! My boyfriend and I would literally rate this as our favorite restaurant that we’ve dined at, and that’s including restaurants in both Chicago and DC. Highly recommend the tuna crudo, the wagyu short rib, and the rack of lamb as they were exquisite. We also loved our cocktails!! Amazing experience, would absolutely recommend again.

                                              I used to love 1789 but hadn’t been in years. It seemed drab and tired last night. The food was passable, but (aside from the beet and burratta app) nothing special. The Hummingbird dessert was pretty grim—gummy and tasteless. The service was fine; the noise level good. Overall disappointing.

                                              We had the most amazing dinner last evening at 1789. A group of college friends had a chance to gather for the Holy Cross vs Georgetown game and ended the day with a very special dinner. The service was attentive, warm and happily added a seventh seat to our table for six. Our waiter described the offerings beautifully and each part of the meal was even better than explained. This was the perfect spot for such a special dinner and one that will long be remembered.
