It is a nice restaurant with a view of Southend airport which currently is very quite (the airport) The staff were very helpful and friendly which was great, the food was good and even with the starter of my partner being slightly over cooked, they removed it from the bill and thanked us for our genuine feedback. Overall i would return to the restaurant and could recommend it.

I have eaten here and the food is delicious but on this occasion we booked for our Christmas meal on the 23 @ 4 and the restaurant want open do we couldn't eat. quite disappointed the kids were given free crisps and a drink, I believe it was an open table issue not the restaurant.. I really don't want to give a bad review as I know how good it really is, just wanted to not our disappointment and something needs to be done about the booking system.

I was excited to book here as I was recommended the Rosette Menu. I received a call to say my booking couldn’t be honoured. When I said I was staying in the hotel they then asked if I could change the time which I did. When we got to the restaurant we were only offered the Signature menu as they were low staffed in the kitchen. I wish I had been told this when I was called earlier as I had already chosen from the Rosette Menu and enjoy fine dining especially when we had paid for a weekend treat away at your hotel based on your restaurant. Disappointing

After an initial disappointment that the 'Rosette' menu that's advertised is no longer available, our evening was phenomenal. The new 'specials' menu had a good selection and I probably enjoyed my meal more than if I had selected from the 'Rosette'. Fish for starter & main and everything was delicious. We have dined here a few times before and have always enjoyed our meals but this was the best yet and indeed, the best I have had for a very long time. Our waitress, Sheena was excellent (& patient) and was able to explain the dishes available and help us make our selections It's a shame that the restaurant doesn't offer a wider selection of non-alcoholic beers and wines (Becks Blue is as good as it gets) as there are some excellent choices available these days (San Miguel lager, St Peters Without stout and Freixnet sparkling wine, to name a few). Having said that, you rarely see a decent selection in restaurants anywhere. Looking forward to our next visit already!

We had a super time, loads better than the last one. For a starter I had the goats cheese, which was very nice. Warm and runny round the outside but the middle was cold so l left it. I had roast leg of pork which was actually sliced loin of pork. The potatoes were not crispy but acceptable, the peas and carrots and parsnips and yorkshire puds were yummy. The broccoli and cauliflower cheese was quite lacking in cheese sauce. The gravy which was ok and fine for lamb but was far to heavy for the pork and chicken. It coloured the pork dark brown. Sadly no crackling with the pork. Dessert was berry fruit crumble and custard absolutely lovely. I requested extra custard which arrived quickly and piping hot. Did not have tea which I would have preferred as they still use those ridiculously heavy teapots, almost dropped it last time so had coffee which was far too strong for me. I requested extra milk and that was brought to the table without any fuss and bother. The services is brilliant. Thank you all.

Delightful food & setting for a birthday lunch - the cherry on the top being a complementary drink & dessert for the birthday girl!
