   We have dined here a few times and it is our favorite Indian restaurant in York. However, this time, when we arrived the place was closed with a sign saying it was closed until 1/23. Unfortunately, since Open Table thought we were eating at the restaurant, we were unable to rebook another restaurant, and ended up going to three separate restaurants before we were able to be seated, our final restaurant being on the Open Table platform, just closed out because of our situation.

   Food was great and very tasty although a little hotter than expected. Both dishes were one chilli so we didn’t anticipate the heat. Fine for us though and there was plenty of meat with a rich thick sauce. The tables were done up with New Year’s Eve balloons and staff were polite offering good service but there was little atmosphere and it’s way too bright in the restaurant with so many white led lights.

   Food was really top notch, perhaps one of the best Indians I’ve had the pleasure of eating in.

   First time at 29 States. We were going to a show starting at 7.30 our table booked at 6.15 but we were 15 mins late. When told, they made sure meal was served by 7 and we made show on time. Service was excellent as was the food. Definitely go again when not rushing. Highly recommend

   Excellent food, the best of its type I have experienced for a very long time. Would definitely recommend.

   Very nice food with distinctive flavours. Different from more 'mainstream' Indian style restaurants in its menu. Pleasant surroundings within. Staff a little thin on the ground. It appeared a member of kitchen staff had to help the only waiter I saw on duty as it got busier but that did not detract overall.
