Tavern House is the creation of restaurateurs David Wilhelm and Gregg Solomon who have developed numerous Orange County restaurants over the past 25 years, including Kachina, Bistro 201, Barbacoa, Chat Noir, Diva, Sorrento Grille and French 75. The menu reflects a collection of Chef Wilhelm's popular signature seafood and comfort food dishes. A large centrally located bar drives a vibrant night time scene in what is arguably one of the best view locations in Newport Harbor. Tavern House has a beautiful 50 seat private room for banquets with full views of the harbor and a warm central fireplace.

The food is always delicious with a good variety of items to select from on the menu. It has a great view of the water along with nice ambiance. The service was outstanding as the server was friendly and knowledgeable.

We had a wonderful dinner. We had a perfect seat and everyone was so helpful and accommodating as they assisted one of our party that was in a wheelchair. Our server, Nori, was amazing. She was very nice and provided great service. Thank you!

Another David Wilhelm winner! The Stroganoff was delicious, flavorful, not to much mushroom. The fish & chips was fresh, crunch, and yummy. Best of all was the Caesar salad- a little spicy, crunchy, and delicious! (I think they had this same basic salad back at Chimayo Grill in the 1990s... it was great then too,)

Overall fantastic. From the valet through dessert, everything was friendly and enjoyable.

Food was just ok. Service was excellent. We had a request for pizza and they said it could not be done? Simple request but chef refused to accommodate.

The tavern is a very well run and managed restaurant the staff and the bartenders are excellent. The food is superb. We have the fried chicken among the best I’ve ever had.

Food is delicious and a good variety. Our server Nori was very helpful giving us useful tips on shareable dishes. Atmosphere is relaxed even though the noise level is moderate. We made a special request regarding seating thru Open Table which was accommodated.
