Aboyer (ab-wah-yay), meaning, “to bark,” is a French-American brasserie as imagined by Chef Michael Lachowicz. An American-French restaurant pushing the boundaries of classic cuisine. Pulling from influences all over the world, Aboyer reconfigures classic dishes, but is still firmly planted in classic method and technique, never forgetting where we came from.

Reservations are recommended; walk-ins are welcome. Aboyer requires a credit card to secure all reservations. Please note that reservations cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled booking will incur a $25 per guest cancellation fee & no-shows will be billed at a rate of $50 per guest.

I enjoyed the mussels and salad. The steak fries and pepper crusted pork were just ok. Staff was excellent. Very busy. Crowded and noisy.

Limited menu and they were out of a main on a Saturday night- some hostess delays and weird backup of people trying to get seated. They got slammed and mostly handled it well. Food was delicious, salade lyonnaise, the champignons en feuillette I could have licked the plate clean! So yum. Trout was also so so good. I'd probably skip the mussels next time. They were good but not amazing like everything else.

Special Valentine’s Day pop up of George Trois. Meal was extraordinary. Ambiance was refined, each of the 6 courses would be the highlight of almost any meal. Service was friendly and efficient. Chef Michael shows that he still stands with the best chef’s in Chicago

Valentine’s Day, prime time, and the place was packed. Service was excellent, food exceptional, timing perfect…a testament to the professionalism exhibited by the Aboyer staff.

The restaurant was overbooked and overflowing with customers. We had a 7:15 and arrived 5 minutes early to be told that they were running 30 minutes behind and it would be best to wait in the car. Once seated an hour late, the service was slow and many of the items listed on the menu were no longer available. The overall experience was deeply disappointing.
