Aboyer (ab-wah-yay), meaning, “to bark,” is a French-American brasserie as imagined by Chef Michael Lachowicz. An American-French restaurant pushing the boundaries of classic cuisine. Pulling from influences all over the world, Aboyer reconfigures classic dishes, but is still firmly planted in classic method and technique, never forgetting where we came from.

Reservations are recommended; walk-ins are welcome. Aboyer requires a credit card to secure all reservations. Please note that reservations cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled booking will incur a $25 per guest cancellation fee & no-shows will be billed at a rate of $50 per guest.

    Happy hour is the best! All my favorites at half price. Currently they’re serving their spring pea soup which is outstanding. Service is great. Staff treats you like family. Aboyer is our all time favorite place on the North Shore.

    We enjoyed a lovely evening at Aboyer with a friend. The food was great, we all had either short ribs or steak to accompany the red wine we brought. Service was very attentive and the dishes were wonderful. Aboyer is our favorite restaurant!

    We celebrated a birthday with our family. Everything was great. We had a wonderful dinner, the food was excellent service excellent. We also were there on New Year’s Eve. Our experience was great.

    Sunday is smashburger night and between 4-6 pm, it’s happy hour too. Food is amazing. Service is friendly and attentive. Our favorite place to eat on the North Shore.

    Aboyer continues to be one of the finest restaurants in the Chicago area. The menu is rich and appealing, and the Dover Sole special is fantastic. Excellent service and a fabulous experience all around.

    The Dover sole was absolutely fantastic, and the service couldn’t have been better. We unexpectedly ran into some family members, and the staff went out of their way to seat us together, which made the experience even more special. I highly recommend Aboyer and am already looking forward to my next visit!

    Not worth it unless you know that Michael himself is cooking. His other cooks are not well trained and cannot replicate the level of food he does. Too bad because when Michael is cooking it can be excellent.
