Billy Lawless est heureux d'annoncer un nouveau chapitre dans l'histoire de l'édifice historique Gage - l'ouverture de l'Acanto. Le mot Acanto est la traduction italienne d'acanthe, la feuille fleurie largement utilisée dans l'architecture romaine. Le célèbre architecte Louis Sullivan l'a également reproduite dans l'ornementation en terre cuite qui distingue la façade de ce bâtiment historique situé au 18, South Michigan Avenue. L'Acanto sert une cuisine italienne rustique dans un cadre accueillant et décontracté. À la tête de la cuisine, le chef exécutif Chris Gawronski propose des pâtes faites à la main, des plats de bord de mer, des pizzas cuites au four à bois et un assortiment de charcuterie maison. Aucun repas italien n'est complet sans une boisson parfaitement appariée, ce qui est la tâche du directeur des boissons Jon McDaniel. En se fondant sur son temps passé à Trente et dans le Piémont, Jon met en vedette une sélection unique de vins en provenance des 20 régions viticoles de l'Italie et de la bière artisanale italienne. Great service and pasta. Great place to have dinner before a concert at CSO. It is just a few minutes walk to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Always a wondereful experience. This was our first time for lunch. Be aware, the sandwiches are HUGE, so be prepared for leftovers or to share. Always interesting wines by the glass.

It was a wonderful dinner - just very hectic, so a little hard to be heard in conversation. The service, food and ambience were all exceptional - cannot wait to return! Highly recommend!

Excellent bolognese, pear salad, chicken piccata and focaccia! Service was also terrific. I would not sit in the porch in the future as the street traffic noise was horrible and it was cold most of the time.

Outstanding dining experience. The food was fantastic, the wines were wonderful and well selected, the service was lovely and the dining room is warm and lovely. We love Acanto!

It was a lovely evening. Everyone was happy with their dinner, including our 11 yr old granddaughter who ordered a pizza (not on the menu). We felt extremely accomodated, well taken care of. When next in Chicago we will return.
