   Always such a pleasure to dine at Acorn. The food is outstanding, seafood platter and tomahawk steak did not disappoint. 5 star service all round. Highly recommended.

   Food and service were fantastic! Superb fish dishes, I had the hake from the specials board, well worth the money! Others in the group had the steak and veal dishes, all very good portions and a lovely smokey flavour. Best restaurant in Godalming.

   Outstanding meal which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The owner is extremely informative and friendly . Nothing was too much trouble .. he even offered to make an alternative vegetarian meal for me. I would highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant in Godalming We will definitely be back soon!

   The best food that we have eaten for a long time. Everything was absolutely delicious. The chef went out of his way to accommodate my mother’s food intolerances. Delicious wine too. Highly recommend.

   Amazing oysters and steak. Great to see Acorn back to serving fantastic food! Definitely the best restaurant in Godalming.

   I organised a birthday dinner for my fiance here with several friends. The restaurant was very accomodating when I asked to add 3 extra people to the table two days before, which we appreciated. The food was brilliant and very much to our taste, complements to the chef. However the service unfortunately let the evening down; we were seated for 45 minutes before having a drinks order taken, and this was after we had got up to ask for service. We ended up ordering drinks with food. There were also a couple of times we felt the staff were slightly irritated at requests (e.g to take glasses not in use from the table, and to take the order for food at the same time as drinks as it had taken a long time to achieve service). We appreciated the birthday dessert and candle, which was a nice touch. We would come back for the food, however we felt the service let down the experience as a whole. It may have been as we were seated in a second room and not in the main restaurant, so out of view. I probably would still recommend this restaurant to others as the food was excellent, and perhaps the staff were very busy and there are factors out of their control.

   This was our first visit and we were very impressed. We went there for the Oysters as they no longer serve them at the Star or anywhere else locally. Both my daughter and I love fish and the specials menu was really tempting as I also love venison but we settled on the set menu Tomahawk Steak for 2 and were delighted. The oysters were the best we have tasted for a while - much better than the ones at the Star - so win win!

   Great Night !! Good intro to the menu from the proprietor chef which had some lovely specials. Service & ambience were also good.
