The Adair Country Inn was built in 1927 and sits on a 200-acre grand estate with views of the surrounding White Mountains. This former private residence offers intimate and casual dining indoors all year, plus patio dining during the summer. Curbside pickup is available as well. Open Wed thru Sun from 5 to 9 pm.

Enjoy Executive Chef Steve Learned's exquisite cuisine. Made with the freshest ingredients and artfully presented. We welcome guests of the Inn, visitors to the area and local friends and family to enjoy New England Style cuisine.

    Beautiful dining area in the parlor. Friendly staff excellent service from Kelly. Two of three meals were poor. Lamb was almost raw. Baked potato unpalatable almost like it was baked then rewarmed in microwave. Returned lamb to be hopefully cooked to appropriate ‘doneness’ only one returned with mashed potato. Salmon was boney and the sauce and the accompanying risotto were bland. Tenderloin medallions were very tasty and cooked as requested. Overall a special celebration dinner was a disappointment.

    Jeanette, it's regrettable that you didn't enjoy your meals Sat night. We had very long weekend, full of compliments. So it saddens me you didn't walk away completely satisfied. We ARE very happy you enjoyed the medallions & our server Kelly is Great! Please reach out when you are in the area on your next visit & we will try to make it up to you!

    Our dinner was amazing, I requested a rose for my girlfriend for Valentine’s Day and they delivered it beautifully. Our waitress was super sweet, she took care of us in a timely manner and wrote a note on our to go box. Food was spectacular and the dining area as well.

    Our evening was very enjoyable. The inn was warm and welcoming. Our server was very attentive and helpful. Tue food was delicious. We will return again!!

    Romantic and fun date night. Service was outstanding and food was excellent. The White Winter Sangria is a must.

    The food and atmosphere were both excellent. The staff was very friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend.

    Six of us stayed over at the inn. What a lovely time we had! The bedrooms were huge, warm and cozy. The living room and lower level gave us many options for hanging out, watching the football games and playing pool. There were trails through the woods right out the door. My lamb chops were a 10+, but those getting fish and venison weren’t as awed. Breakfast was totally fantastic. We will definitely be back

    The restaurant is beautiful and quaint but this review is for the food and service. Our first course of onion tart and house salad was delicious, we were so excited for our main entrees to come. My husband ordered the steak, medium rare, and the waitress asked if he wanted it more on the medium or more on the rare side which he said more on the medium side..his steak came barely cooked and over seasoned, the huge chunk of fat on the steak was completely white as it wasn’t cooked at all. I ordered the chicken breast stuffed with Brie and apples which obviously sounds delicious. When my chicken came to the table, the first thing I thought was “well this looks boring” The chicken had no cheese in it, there was about 5 pieces of diced apple outside of the chicken, and the chicken was so tough that a knife could barely cut into it. It was so incredibly dry and flavorless. We were so disappointed and let the waitress know the issues that we were having. We were the last table of the night so We heard the waitress talking to the manager in the kitchen about how we were disappointed with our meal (it was quiet enough to hear a pin drop at this point) and heard the waitress say “I’ll just take their drinks off the bill” ..we also heard her say “he’s not going to try it, they already touched the food”. She then came back to the table and apologized and asked if we would rather have free dessert or our drinks taken off the bill. I said please take the drinks off and she stated that the food would be comped. The manager then came out and apologized and said “can I send you home with some crème brûlée?”..I said okay thanks and the waitress had exclaimed that crème brûlée is hard to take home which at this point the manager put her hand up and said I’ve got it. When the waitress gave us the bill, the food was not comped, they took 30% off. The crème brûlée was in a paper cup covered in strawberries, ruining the delicate flavor of the custard. We were so disappointed.

    Dear Tori, We regret that you had this experience. Your feedback is important to us. You felt some of the changes happening within our small kitchen & we sincerely apologize for the errors & mis-steps the evening you dined . We understand how upsetting this must be & that is why we tried to send you home with a lovely dessert.  However, It seems we missed the mark there as well.  Transitions can be difficult with small businesses such as ours especially after having such a strong chef all of these years.  Our new chef is quickly finding his footing & getting many compliments with his new menu.  Sadly, I think you caught us on a bad day.  We encourage you to return & give us another try!

    The Adair restaurant itself is very nice. Now I'm going to be honest & a little critical. We were here last just after Columbus Day weekend the weekend after. It's only just pretty much gone for that part. The food then was considerably better than it was this time they have a new chef now and I think he's still as they say cutting his teeth. Richard had hope for the osso bucco and they ran out which well that can happen so you just deal with it. We both started with the seafood chowder this was excellent this to me was the best thing of the entire meal. Lots of seafood mostly fish. Great flavor brothy rather than way too much cream. Chowders over the last 30 or 40 years have become a different animal compared to what they used to be. Most places are so thick you could stand a spoon up in it and that's because they use way too much Roux. A lot of room is a good way of hiding the fact you actually don't have much seafood in the chowder. You put in whatever seafood base, a tiny bit of seafood and then a lot of roux & a lot of cream. Not the way it should be. But at Adair the restaurant chowder was excellent. The way a chowder should be. We then split the house salad which was really good very fresh just the right amount of dressing really tasty. For our mains I had the salmon which came with a pesto rice. I'm not a big fan of rice anyway but you know that's what was included with the meal. The salmon was good A little overcooked, which I'm generally okay with. It definitely could have used a little bit more of a sauce on top. No Richard ordered the pork ribeye. Now people need to understand this is not a ribeye like you get with a steak this is basically a loin chop. It can be done either bone in or no bone this was no bone. The meat was good, but needed more sauce. I recommend a chutney. Desserts were okay but not over the top. I think they just need to fine-tune things a little bit.

    Keith-It was so nice to meet you & your partner this Jan. It's dedicated guests like you that keep us on our toes! Our new Chef was still in training when you last visited. He's now launched a new winter menu (some of the dishes you've tried) & he's getting great reviews! I encourage you to try us again as we move into next phase of the Adair family & staff. So glad you enjoyed our 'chowdah' too ❤️

    This our are second time staying and eating at Adair. Set in an old manor house, it truly is a unique inn experience. The food was outstanding as was the service . They are under new ownership and the current innkeepers help make it very memorable. Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed!

    Can’t ask for a better ambiance given this is a country inn. The new owners are doing a great job. Several comments about the food. Two of our group ordered the fish/rice/zucchini dish. It was okay but presentation was poor. Everything was white with no contrast. Making food appealing in its presentation relates directly to how we relate to the taste. One of us ordered the chicken which was not only overdone but the chicken must have been on weight watchers’ given the portion size. I had the risotto with shrimp which was excellent. The mushroom cap appetizer lacked any flavor and I wouldn’t order it again. However, the Yule log dessert was to die for. A generous helping to top off our meal. The waitstaff was excellent and it was very nice to have the new owner come to the table and converse with us. We have been here many times and I am sure they are working through the kinks. We will return as we love to support new entrepreneurs.
