   Absolutely fantastic service, food was 10/10 best authentic Japanese in london. We go out for dinner every week and It’s a tradition that the whole family rates a restaurant every time we go out. This is the first time we all had a 10/10.

   I booked a table at 2.30 for a lunch but when I arrive at 2.35 there they informed me - without apologies- that lunch service is over

   The service was outstanding, with a great level of attention and the team was in sync, prepared, and always ready despite of being busy. Absolutely amazing, what a team! I will most certainly be back! Congratulations to the chef and team as they have our together a magnificent menu, evocative of Japan’s best restaurants in downtown Tokyo

   Akira are good at what they do. Order from the set menu and you'll not be disappointed - pitch perfect sashimi in their trademark "box of delights" - and how can you go wrong with wagyu beef, with a little sushi set and miso soup on the side? Nice room, thoughtful service, good range of drinks. It's not cheap, but you wouldn't want it to be.

   Went for the afternoon tea and wanted to order matcha latte from the menu. When asking about alternative milk options we were told there is no alternative, I find that interesting given matcha is being serviced with three types of alternative milks at the downstairs matcha counter. Even if just one alternative would be served in the restaurant it would be ok but just dismissing the request saying none available I find odd in 2024. The food overall was nice, the service not as friendly as you would hope.

   I have recently returned from Japan and was looking for that authentic flavour that I have experienced in Tokyo, so after much research I choose Akira restaurant. The restaurant is lovely, simple, with the kitchen in the middle just like in Japan! You get greeted in Japanese and some of the staff are native Japanese so you can practise a bit of Japanese with them . I choose the Wagyu beef ramen and small Bento box, my daughter choose the chicken Ramen. Aesthetically it looked amazing and the flavours were fabulous but it just didn't hit the spot. The presentation is perfect. As it was my daughters birthday they dressed up the dessert very nicely and even sang Happy Birthday to her. The gin coctails are absolutely amazing! Highly recommended them. One of the things we miss from Japan amongst a lot of other things is the toilets. And this restaurant has the Toto toilets!!! Made my day ❤️ Akira restaurant is worth a visit, it is slightly pricey but it is worth every penny. We will defiantely return Thanks for the wonderful staff who looked after us x

    I would have said the experience was 5 stars. However, I was positioned at the counter to see the chefs do their stuff but due to the fact that a lot of crockery is piled up quite high, I could not see anything close to me. I am not a short person (183cm) and felt like it defeated the whole point of the counter area. Other than that, I though the experience was exceptional and the food was exceptional.
