Our island is full of stories, none more inviting than the one told by the dish in front of you. Known for its modern take on Hawaiian comfort fare, Alaia embraces the community through its support of nearby Mauka Farms, telling their story through every plate, bite, and sip. Using unique, native produce such as apple bananas, Moloka'i sweet potatoes and tomatoes from Pele, a third generation farmer, our culinary team works in tune with the seasons. At Alaia we reap the bounty from the mauka to the makai, working with hand-selected fruits and vegetables from our farm to your table. We let the quality and simplicity of the ingredients speak for themselves. And we love what they have to say.

We sat outside near the pool so that made it a moderate noise level. We watched the sun set and it was beautiful. The food was delicious. I had the mushroom pasta and my husband the mahi.

We made a dinner reservation for our anniversary. The front desk staff greeted us, congratulated us on our anniversary and then asked us where we would like to sit. The ambiance of the place was like a nice candle light dinner with the beach behind and a cool breeze. After being seated, staff gave us water and focaccia bread with whipped butter as a starter. After ordering we waited about 15-20 minutes for our food, but it was worth the wait as it was delicious. The kitchen was also able to accommodate a food modification request. Finally, they gave us a delicious dessert on the house and wished us happy anniversary again. The chicken was really good and juicy and the mushroom pasta was creamy yet not too heavy.

I was a little hesitant to try this restaurant based on some of the reviews but man we were not disappointed. The Ahi Poke Starter was incredible, we also enjoyed our mains, the Miso Glazed Pork Chop and. Red Tenderloin. Definitely would recommend stopping by before your reservation and looking at the menu as it is limited but other than that it was a great experience.

While we dined here twice during our stay, our New Year's Eve experience unfortunately fell short of expectations. The prix fixe menu, while understandable for such a busy night, was surprisingly limited with only a choice of pork chop or steak frites and a single dessert option. The steak, though cooked to the requested temperature, lacked any real wow factor. It arrived with a red wine butter that, sadly, never melted. Perhaps serving it on a warmer plate would have helped. The lobster bisque, while flavorful, was incredibly rich and salty, overpowering the delicate lobster flavor. A smaller portion alongside a lighter appetizer, like a small ceviche, would have created a more balanced and enjoyable starter. That said, there were some highlights. The seafood tower was a generous assortment of fresh seafood, and the smoked marlin spread was absolutely divine – smoky, creamy, and overall great flavor. The Brussel sprouts were also a standout, perfectly roasted with a hint of maple and chunks of bacon. Overall, Alaia has a lot going for it, but our New Year's Eve dinner lacked the refinement and creativity we expected from an upscale establishment.

We went there as part of our 50th anniversary celebration on New Year’s Eve and everything was wonderful! The hostess wished us a happy anniversary and the server recognized it as well. The seating was beautiful overlooking the ocean at sunset. The food was delicious, the ambiance was great and the staff was attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend.

We ordered 2 mahi specials and one beef tenderloin. Food was pretty mediocre and not cheap. Although servers were friendly, delivery to table was a shambles. One of our mains was missing and wrong main was brought to us instead of to the table beside us. Cheesecake for dessert was very good. We are guests at the hotel.

We enjoyed an ocean view had the catch of the day - Mahi Mahi as well as the fresh made pasta with mushrooms and prawns. All was delicious. The children’s menu also had a fresh fish option. Our server was friendly and the entire experience was just lovely. Highly recommend.
