Our Mission
ALCE 101 is set up to be Southern California’s first real tequileria restaurant. ALCE 101 will be a social experience combing craft aged private label Tequilas, featuring our own ALCE 101 Brand Tequila as a tribute from Leyendes de mi Pueblo Tequila.
The ALCE 101 Kitchen & Tequileria will combine a menu paired around the amazing bounty of farm to table flavors found in the American Southwest of Santa Fe New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona and Cal-Mex along with a vast selection of Tequilas and Mezcals.
Our goal is to send a message that San Diego Creative dining with knowledgeable, smart and conscientious staff is back as we raise the bar for excellence in Solana Beach.

We had Teagan as a waiter and Nick as a busboy, they were amazing! Other tables enjoyed themselves. The pozole and cornbread was unreal! The deviled eggs super yummy but too spicy for my husband. Everyone but the tall female bartender were welcoming and nice. She kept leaving and acted like she hated working there. We went to the bar for drinks, bad mistake. Brunch menu was great but I have a rare vinegar allergy and they couldn’t compensate for that in the kitchen. Definitely are coming again

They were 90 min late on our reservation although they did comp a considerable amount of our drinks so that was nice. Food was good but not spectacular.

Food was good, not great. A bit overpriced for what you get. And it was SO loud in there. I had to lean in to hear my friend across from me and I could still barely make out what she was saying. We also celebrated two birthdays and they didn’t say happy birthday nor do anything.

The service and ambiance were excellent. It is very loud due to a lack of noise-absorbing surfaces. The onion rings were very sour due to the pickling. The enchiladas were somewhat bland. Otherwise, it was a good experience.

Food is great quality, but a good $5-$8 more than what it should be. Great drinks, great service, beautiful ambience. A bit loud, but fun and lively. :)

This is a greatly needed Addition to the restaurant scene in Solana Beach! From the moment you pull up to there is a creative, welcoming vibe! The design and vibe of ALCE 101 is fresh and congenial. The menu is unique well-thought out! The service was excellent, and finally, the food was outstanding! We had a great experience and will be back again!

This was our second visit to ALCE 101. Both were a bit disappointing. The food is good but the service is mediocre at best. Just getting water refills was a challenge, and don't even get me started on why they wouldn't provide a spoon when they serve the pozole. Poor service was evident on our first visit shortly after they opened. We excused it, thinking they were still working out some of the kinks. However, several months into operation, it appears the wait staff have not been trained or perhaps there is an assumption that, if they've waited tables anywhere, that is sufficient. A higher level of service is expected from a restaurant that is trying to be "high end" than there is at, say, Denny's or the local pizza pub. Given the plethora of options with good food AND good service, I doubt we'll be back.
