Located in the heart of downtown State College, our newly restored space offers an honest, no-fuss menu featuring modern American cooking. The bar program features classics-inspired craft cocktails and a thoughtfully curated biodynamic wine list including plentiful wines by the glass.

Located on the second floor of Hotel State College, an iconic corner of hospitality in the community, the Grill has offered the community and alumni one of the grandest views of town and Penn State through floor-to-ceiling windows for more than 40 years. Thoughtfully restored and reimagined by new owners, Chef Karen Nicolas and the team set out to re-establish the Allen Street Grill as the epicenter of the downtown dining scene with a focus on local, quality ingredients and great hospitality.

    We get to eat here 2 times a year and every time it gets better. Last night was the best yet. The drinks are amazing, we get the Gin and tonic and Paloma - they are crisp, light, and refreshing to start the meal. Appetizers are had scallops and baked onion soup. The scallops had a pomegranate caviar on top, perfectly seared, and the sauce so good, we asked for more bread to not wasted it! The baked onion soup had many layers of flavor. Dinner had the Branzino with clams and mussels, Parppadelle, Seafood Risotto, and our favorite The Ribeye with potatoes and Brussel Sprouts. The flavor profile and many layers of flavor in each bite, takes you to whole other world. This is in my top 3 places I have eaten in my life! Bonus we get to eat her multiple times a year!

    Such a great experience. The food was wonderful and the bartenders did an amazing job. They go nice and beyond !! I can’t wait to go back .

    Slightly on the pricey side but ABSOLUTELY worth the price. The food and drinks are fantastic, with drink options you probably not find anywhere else. The staff is extremely knowledgeable of all the food and beverages and can answer any questions.

    It was Valentine’s Day and the waiter asked us order everything together, which I typically will not do. I was fine with this but the food took a really long time anyway, but it was staggered.  I have to give it past your Valentine’s Day great location, clean nice restaurant. Good food.

    Dinner was excellent as always. Chad is an excellent server. We really enjoyed our pre-Valentines Day dinner out! As well as our pre-dinner drink at the lobby bar. Thank you!!

    Food was delicious…especially the butterscotch mousse dessert!! Only negative, I wish it was a bigger menu with a few extra choices, especially appetizers.

    We enjoyed our Starters. I had the Steak Tartare. Cindy had the Burrata Cheese. I loved my Duck Breast entree. Cindy also shared some of her Fisherman's Risotto, which I thought was excellent. Great food, service, and experience.

    My son & I dine at Allen Street Grill each time I come up to PSU to visit him. It’s our favorite restaurant around town. As always, everything was outstanding. The food, the ambiance, our server, Kip, was engaging, knowledgeable & very attentive. We had a fantastic time & look forward to returning soon! Thank you!
