Allen's is reminiscent of a New York City saloon from ages past. The tin ceiling, the wood floors and the cozy old bar make it an experience in itself. Yet Allen's also has a fabulous menu that is sure to inspire and delight.

With more than 300 kinds of whisky, more than 100 wines and over 140 beers, it will satisfy your need for liquid refreshment.     Been to their lovely outdoor patio many times. Will return. Tonight, INdoors due to it being March. Two important points: 1. The noise level indoors is incredibly high. So very difficult to hear each other. Sound- proofing consultation with a reputable company will take this resto further 2. Ordered curried shrimp with rice and naan. So very hot ( spicy ). There should be an icon on the menu indicating hotness. At best, ask the server , which I forgot to do. 3. Just a minor point , I guess, but the table was not fully set when we arrived. Had to ask for cutlery and napkins.

    Although the food was good, I found things inconsistent with a pleasurable experience. A burger should not be a la carte and should include things like fries or salad, condiments (no condiment came with mine and none was offered). Not sure if it actually is made this way but it appeared the pizza came on a pre-made crust. The service was exceptional and our server was excellent.

    Allen's is a favourite place to meet with my girlfriends. We live on opposite sides of the city, and we can always rely on the delicious food, excellent service and lively atmosphere! Make sure to try their thick cut fries- they're some of the best in the city. We always order one for the table to share.

    The 2 hour table limit came as a surprise. No notice on reservation, and no indication when we checked in. What made it worse was that one of our party arrived early and that started the clock. I'm fine with a table limit, just be up front about it.
