This was our first time at Allora but it won't be our last! The dining room is beautiful and well laid out. The service was impeccable and so was the food. I had the Branzino, which is filleted and prepared table side and it was excellent. My wife had Veal Parmesean, bone in, and it was superb. My daughter had the Veal Scallopini in a Marsala and it was wonderful. We started our meal by sharing Clams Oreganata and Prosciutto and Melon which was perfect. We finished with Creme Brulee and Tiramisu which topped off an altogether perfect meal. The menu had many other dishes I plan on trying as I become a regular at Allora!

Didn’t take our order for 30+ minutes then waited over an hour for our food. Our waiter spoke to us once and never showed up again. When we asked for the check it took them almost 15 minutes to bring it. While waiting for the check we were asked to move tables and “enjoy our water over there”. The staff was consistently apologetic but equally negligent. Food was good, but everyone around us experienced similar services issues.

We made a reservation for 8:00pm. When we arrived we were told that we had to wait for our table. After waiting for more than 30 minutes we decided to leave. The restaurant clearly does not manage its reservation system very well

The staff was friendly, but very slow. We were rushed out after waiting for food for 30 minutes after ordering. Food was average, noise level was super loud. Skip this one if you can!

I am sorry, but I read the reviews and was terribly misled. The food was banquet food. The salmon was frozen, not fresh. Terrible. Aalora you need to up your game.. don’t be misled that it’s on 5th Ave., New York City, or that it has tablecloths or the presentation, pictures, menu online. Very expensive.

I was happy to find a restaurant that could accommodate our party of 9 on short notice. A large part of why I chose this restaurant was based on the reviews of the great food and service, it was also attractive because of Open Table's cost rating of $$. Yes there are items that are a few items that are reasonable in price, but I feel we were sucker punched upon opening the menu and seeing many entrees that were $35-$50, so they really should not be $$, but $$$ or $$$$. I was shocked that the server provided only one small plate with sliced meat and cheese and another small plate of fried eggplant discs and one slice of bread for a table of 9 people (I had to ask for more bread all the way around and even then only a single slice was provided). I should have said something but I did not because the Maitre d's gruff exterior was off putting and in my opinion he should not be interacting with customers. He was actually the one that rattled off the specials of the day to us and I would have preferred that detail came directly from our server. The waitstaff seemed to be in fear of the Maitre d', so that is never a good sign. I think the restaurant does well because they are attached to the Le Meridien Hotel. Lose the Maitre d' and be more generous with the bread and free apps when you have a large party.

We had a very poor experience. We had a 3:30 reservation and they appeared to be rearranging for the night. They were literally moving tables around for a full hour, about 10 of them, all the while the owner or manager is yelling at them and micromanaging them the whole time. Found the owner/manager to be extremely rude and inconsiderate. We and another table were vertically ignored as they did this. Also when food came it wasn’t even great and the portions were so small and the cost high. Although it had two $$ signs this was not accurate. The antipasto was terrible….two tiny pieces of meat and very little cheese…but lots of onion. I would not ho back. A chain restaurant would have been better.
