Alobar Yorkville is tucked along a pathway in Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood. It puts its foot forward as a cocktail bar, but it is a full-fledged Michelin recommended à la carte restaurant, offering choice seafood with the finest accoutrements, fish and chops off of the charcoal grill, and world-class wines, all served with genuine hospitality. Alobar Yorkville boasts a comfortable courtyard patio merging warm skies with ice cold cocktails during the summer.

Food was quite good. Service was a little lacking, server did little to explain the menu. And bus boy only packed up one of our three dishes to go. Throwing out two fairly full sides. And while birthday was on the reservation and the host knew. It appears that was not communicated to the server as the dessert came with no candle or fanfare. (the table next to us got a birthday candle with their dessert)

Love the interior and the vibe at this location - and of course the food. Was wonderful to be back again. Had dinner with the girls - a fabulous time. Impeccable, food, and wine.

Overall fantastic service and excellent food. I would recommend the oysters, beef carpaccio, pan au lait, tiger prawns and grilled sea bream.

The staff are very friendly. It is a small restaurant with limited seating. Timing of food was perfect and that’s because the server was excellent. The apps were great. The truffle pasta lacked flavour. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, however it was over salted (we love our salt, but even this was too much for us). Banana cream pie was decadent. Great staff, but wish the mains were better.

The first time I have to pay the entire meal and the tip (20% with no chance to change it) before even entering the place (what if I didn’t like the service?). People should be free to decide the tip based on the service received (to note: 2 people party). A bit surprising and disappointing from a place of this level. The food was good but I was expecting more from a Michelin star restaurant. The appetizers were very very good. Pasta was ok: pasta itself great, truffle had no taste. Meat was ruined as it was too greasy (too much butter?), a pity as it was cooked very well. Music was in my view not adequate for san valentine (rock?!). Service was good.

Went for Valentine’s Day and it was amazing. Didn’t feel like the skimped out on portions cause it was a prix fixe menu. Probably one of the better meals I’ve had in my life. We did wine pairings too, it was awesome. Highly recommend.

It’s a very very good restaurant and Chef Patrick is a wonderful host. Eating there is always a treat. Highly recommended.
