Guests can expect dishes inspired by the vibrant spices, fresh herbs, and traditional techniques of Eastern Mediterranean cuisine. Join us for an evening celebrating rich flavors and the creativity of Chef Kastman in this unique dining experience. Chef Mary Kastman, a Madison College Culinary Arts graduate, worked in Boston’s Oleana and Sarma. In 2019, she became Executive Chef at Driftless Cafe in Viroqua, Wisconsin, which earned her a 2022 James Beard semi-finalist nod for Best Chef, Midwest. In 2024, she launched Purslane, a Mediterranean inspired PopUp

    A great before concert dinner. The appetizers were delicious, and the Quail with grits, outstanding. We ended with a delicious puff pastry fill with custard. Always a pleasure to see Chef Greg leading the team.

    I wouldn’t say that its a Spanish inspiration for all. I liked the appetizers but the main course was average. They kept the back door open and was cold and smelled someone was smoking.

    Tried sardine starter, more tomatoes than anything. Brown sauce w/the Halibut completely over-whelmed the taste of the halibut. Extremely, extremely limited menu.

    At Amilinda, we intentionally keep our menu small—not extremely, extremely limited—because it allows us to focus on quality and freshness. A smaller menu ensures we can make everything fresh daily while supporting local farmers and using the best seasonal ingredients. We believe this approach is actually a benefit to our guests. It allows us to concentrate on delivering dishes we’re proud of. Regarding the fish dish, the “brown sauce” was actually a light mushroom broth crafted to complement the fish. Many of our guests have enjoyed this dish and loved how the flavors work together. That said, we understand that tastes are subjective, and perhaps this dish wasn’t the right fit for your palate. We appreciate your perspective and hope you’ll join us again to explore more of our menu!

    We picked this restaurant for our anniversary by reviews and references of nominations for James Beard Foundation rewards. We were so excited to discover new good restaurant for us, but turned out the biggest disappointment, which clouded our anniversary celebration. The skirt steak was absolutely cold as potatoes also came with it. Halibut was under seasoned, basically no taste. The choose of appetizers was only 5 items, 2 fish ones and the rest three vegetables salad, which we ordered 2 out 3 , no taste, don’t know even if it had any dressing unfortunately. Another word very sad experience for us.

    My squash was a bit charred, and the streak was good but nothing really special.

    We just love everything about this restaurant! Food, friendly staff, chef, atmosphere! The food is always amazing, unique, superb! Highly recommend!!

    Amilinda is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Whenever I'm in Milwaukee I make a point of getting there. Unlike so many restaurants you can watch the multiple James Beard nominate executive chef prepare every meal. This is not the set and forget chef design used by so many restaurants. The menu is constantly changing and always filled with food as comforting as the vibe itself.

    What a great date night experience for me & my wife. John our server was very attentive and helpful. Chef Leon came over a few times to talk to us which we both loved to speak with him. Food was excellent and very reasonable for the exceptional quality. We will be back many more times!
