Owner Felicia Wilson and Chef Partner Darryl Harmon, who hails from Gouldstown, NJ in Cumberland County, which is considered the oldest black community in the U.S., is an award-winning chef for The Lure Group in New York City. He previously served as the Executive Chef at the Water Works Restaurant in Philadelphia between 2007 and 2012.

The overall experience was all right. The appetizers were better than the main course. The drinks were okay. The lamb dish did not have any flavor and it was unseasoned. The salmon dish was over cooked. The side dishes, which were the mac & cheese, and the yams were excellent.

Appetizers were good. Not many healthy options. The salmon was dry and overcooked. The other 2 folks with me enjoyed their meals of smothered turkey wings and short rib. Also, the cleanliness of the stairway going down to the ladies' room was disappointing.

Very intimate setting with such diverse guests. Warm atmosphere with such a young audience of staffing

Had oxtails and wings. Chicken wings were great oxtails were not flavorful. Service wasn’t that great. Food came out fast, so quick turn around!

The food, ambiance are amazing! Highly recommend the oxtails, sweet potatoes & lamb lollipops, delicious! We will definitely be back to try more dishes.

I'm gonna start with on negative. There's no waiting area. It's a small restaurant with a small vestibule. When my party of 4 arrived, we had nowhere to stand. However, the hostess promptly got a table for us even though we were a few minutes early. The chairs were super comfy and plush. The atmosphere was jumping as it was Saturday night. We ordered cheesesteak beignets and lima bean hummus- both were delicious and did not last more than a few minutes on our table. We had smothered turkey wings with a gravy that was to die for delicious. All the sides - yams, brussel sprouts, and collards were so good. We also ordered piri piri wings and that sauce was so unique. Different than your typical bar wings. Service was excellent- the wait staff were on top on everything. Our came out so hot that we had to wait a minute to eat it. Can't say enough great things about this place! Hope to go back soon.

We are huge foodies and have thoroughly explored the Philly food scene. Amina was excellent. The vibe, food and service was over the top. We sat at the bar where Carl provided amazing service. We had the greens, cornbread and beef rib. Huge portions and some of the best Southern food we’ve ever had in a restaurant (we lived in the deep South for 15 years). Highly recommend. We will certainly be back to try other selections on their menu.
